As we shiver in the grip of winter, the poster for a winter getaway to distant Kepler-16b looks pretty appetising.
Who could resist ‘the land of two suns’?
The poster is one of three created by Nasa visual strategists, Joby Harris, David Delgado and Dan Goods, imagining classic Art Deco-style travel posters for planets newly detected using the Kepler Space Telescope.
This week, Kepler scientists discovered eight new planets – including two thought to be the most Earth-like yet found.
David Delgado said, ‘It feels like we’re living in the future, or science fiction is coming to life. We thought it would be really cool to explore the characteristics of each planet through the context of travel.’
